Los Altos High School campus supervisor Silvio Yoc-Aguilar was arrested last Tuesday on several counts of sexual assault involving a minor, according to a news release from the San José Police Department. Los Altos High administration said in an email that Yoc-Aguilar will not be returning to campus.
The alleged incident occurred in a Hubbard Media Arts Academy classroom in San José, where Yoc-Aguilar had been assigned as a youth counselor with the New Hope for Youth organization.
Los Altos High administration said the school currently does not have information that points to similar incidents during Yoc-Aguilar’s four months as campus supervisor.
After responding to a call from a San José residence and interviewing the victim on Monday, officers from the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force/Child Exploit Detail obtained an arrest warrant and took Yoc-Aguilar into custody at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims because Yoc-Aguilar had been a “person of trust” at Hubbard, according to the news release. People with information regarding this incident have been asked to contact the department’s ICAC/CED unit at (408) 537-1381.
This is a developing story. A previous version of this article’s headline stated that Yoc-Aguilar was arrested for the sexual assault of a minor; the word “alleged” has since been added.
