Gunn High School held its first ever spring homecoming week last week, a spinoff on the typical fall homecoming week.
Class-versus-class games ran during brunch and lunch throughout the week with various games reminiscent of homecoming games, such as an obstacle course on the field and pool relays. There were also some new additions, such as Pizza Noodle, where teams used pool noodles to knock empty pizza boxes out of each others’ hands while holding their own.
“I think it was really fun to have another shot at playing the class games and earn points for our class,” freshman Inaaya Ahmed said. “We held our own and I feel that our freshmen class pride has definitely gone up after this.”
The week ended with the seniors leading at 7,050 points, followed by the juniors at 6,950 points, the freshmen with 6,350 points and finally the sophomores with 5,850 points.
“I thought it was really fun to watch all the class games, and it helped me relax with AP season approaching,” junior Benjamin Liu said. “I was happy that the juniors did really well, finishing just 100 points behind the seniors and almost tying them like in the fall.”
Here’s a recap of the week, captured by our photographers.
