United States District 16 Representative and former San Jose mayor Sam Liccardo is hosting a town hall at Mountain View High on Sunday, March 9.
During the event — with attendance capped at 500 attendees — community members will have the opportunity to ask Liccardo questions and express their concerns about current events.
Indivisible, a grassroots movement aiming to elect progressive leaders and “defeat the Trump agenda,” is encouraging California Indivisible members to attend, according to their website. In their RSVP for Sunday’s town hall, Indivisible invites attendees to urge Liccardo “to hold the line against any extremist government funding deal” and ask that he plans another in-person town hall later in March.
Liccardo was elected to office in Nov. 2024, beating former California Assemblymember Evan Low by a wide margin. Liccardo’s campaign was centered on his intent to address issues including homelessness, crime and California’s cost of living.
As congressman, Liccardo introduced a bill on Feb. 26 barring elected officials from issuing or endorsing securities, commodities or digital assets.
You can RSVP to the town hall here.
