Mountain View High School’s boys soccer team shut out Los Altos High School 3-0 on Tuesday, Jan. 6.

The Spartans entered the match ranked fourth in the Bay Area by 49ers Cal-Hi Sports after defeating Santa Clara 4-1 in their league opener, while the Eagles lost earlier in the week to Los Gatos.

The game was close for the first thirty minutes, before Mountain View High senior Nicco Garzino beat his defender and scored the first goal of the game. In the second half, Mountain View High senior Jonah Fernandez scored the match’s second goal, tying the game until Garzino notched his second goal and sealed the Spartans’ victory.

Mountain View High looks to continue their unbeaten run against Los Gatos on Thursday, while Los Altos High will host Homestead High School.
