Neysa Fligor claimed a victory on Dec. 30 in a 2025 special election for Santa Clara County Assessor, securing the leadership of a department responsible for assessing property values for more than $750 billion in real estate across the county.
Fligor’s victory comes as longtime assessor Larry Stone prepares to retire after more than three decades in office. Stone has endorsed Fligor as his successor, who brought up her experience and qualifications to continue the work of the assessor’s office.
Fligor is also endorsed by Congressman Sam Liccardo, who cited her “integrity, intelligence, and independence” and described her as “ready to work for the residents of the County on day one.”
Fligor will take over leadership of the department during a period of continued economic growth and rising property values in Silicon Valley. Her election marks a transition in leadership as Santa Clara County moves forward under new leadership.
